May the Fourth Be With You!
This is the story of Emma & Tim who chose to have a beautiful countryside Ballyvolane House Wedding in Co. Cork. This glorious wedding was the first of my season this year and my-oh-my did it get me excited about the year to come. For starters the newlyweds chose May the 4th as their wedding date. What lay ahead was a very slick tribute to Star Wars, done subtly and to perfection.
Some of the highlights at this Ballyvolane House Wedding (www.ballyvolanehouse.ie) included their intimate woodland wedding ceremony surrounded by quiet countryside. The summer sunshine which set the scene for games of croquet and drinks on the lawn. A whole lot of love, hugs and tears, happy tears particularly from the men. Oh and there was a lot of emotion with runny noses from the mammies too!
So how does one pay tribute to ‘May the Fourth’ in style …and without walking down the isle to the Star Wars Theme tune (not recommended by the way)? Tim’s cuff links and socks discreetly adorned with the hairy Chewbacca for starters. All of the groomsmen’s flowers plus the Groom’s had miniature favourite star wars characters Yoda, Chewy, R2-D2 and C-3PO. While the page boy’s flower had a little Lego Luke Skywalker. So unique, so cool and put together by the creative hands of Ina McCarthy (www.inamccarthyforflowers.com
Given Tim’s family are from England, their Ballyvolane House Wedding well and truly showed off the beauty of the Irish countryside and what we have to offer. Because you’ll frequently here us Irish say that there’s no place as gorgeous as Ireland…..well when the sun shines anyway! If you’d like to see more Country House style weddings, simply click here.
