When I was approached by Kate in January 2016 outside Tesco and asked if I would photograph her wedding, at this time she had no idea when or where it would take place however she definitely knew to whom. Although Kate & Johnny began falling for each other for realsies exactly 2239 days prior to their wedding day*, who could have imagined the absolutely stunning wedding day that they would one day share at Coolbawn Quay, Co. Tipperary. In Ireland we generally accept that once it doesn’t lash rain before the drinks reception then its all good. Yet we’ve all been to weddings when the heaven’s opened (before the drinks reception) and the day was a huge success because realistically its all about celebrating, skitting, eating & drinking with your nearest and dearest.
For Kate & Johnny however their day had all of these important factors combined with the sun shining from just moments before the radiant Kate arrived to the church. Now…combined with 10 mins in a hay field for some beautiful Bride & Groom portraits, a gorgeous drinks reception by the water, the newlywed’s slick arrival on a boat while serenaded by an incredible Phillippino covers band, the mother of the groom who isn’t afraid to discipline the best man mid his speech for past crimes reaching back to adolescence, a venue adorned with seriously stylish decorations & flowers from Vintage Affair plus magnificent artisan cake & confectionary from Cocoamoiselle, all wrapped in a crazy amount of love for this couple and you’ve got yourself one beast of a wedding!! Presenting Johnny & Kate’s Sunny Summer Wedding at Coolbawn Quay.
*As a wedding photographer one should always know these very important details regarding one’s clients. It helps however when the Bride made a beautiful personalised card for the Groom and all I had to do was take a photo!!!
